Close to two hundred Filipino math wizards will come face to face to vie for top awards in the second round of the International Mathematics Assessments for School (IMAS) which will be held at 9 o’ clock in the morning in designated contest venues on Saturday, February 22, 2014.
The IMAS, a world class mathematics assessment test for students in the upper primary, middle primary and junior divisions, will challenge participants to answer fifteen questions, as follow: problems 1 to 5 (multiple choice type); problems 6 – 13 (requiring short answers), and problems 14 to 15 (needing detailed solution).
In the 2nd round IMAS, the top 5% percentile participants will be awarded gold medal, each of the 6% to 15% percentile participants will be awarded silver medal and each of the 16% to 30% percentile participants will receive bronze medal.
All qualified participants are advised to proceed to their respective venues for the 2nd round IMAS:
