Filipino Students Shine at World Mathematics and Science Competition
BOGOR, INDONESIA – The Philippines has emerged victorious at the World Mathematics and Science Competition, held in Bogor, Indonesia from November 1 to 4, 2024.
The Filipino contingent brought home a treasure trove of medals, showcasing their exceptional skills in both individual and team competitions. In the Science individual contest, the Filipino students secured an impressive 3 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals.
Their prowess in science was further highlighted in the team competition, where they clinched 4 championships and 5 first runner-up positions in the Science category.
Adding to their impressive performance, the Philippines’ sole participant in the math division, Antonio Pio R. Vivo, Grade 6, San Beda College, Alabang also claimed one merit award in the individual math contest and a first runner-up position in the team puzzle contest.
This latest feat does not only underscore the dedication and hard work of the Filipino students and their mentors but also highlights the excellence in science and math which they displayed on the global stage.
