A team of Filipino mathletes rendered their rivals speechless as they hauled 2 gold, 6 silver, and 6 bronze certificates in the high-level, large-scale, influential and IMO-style 2021 Northern China Mathematics Olympiad (CNMO) Invitational, which was held online last August 7, 2021.
Known as one of the world’s most grueling math Olympiads, the CNMO was triumphed over by 14 Filipino math wizards who stood up to the toughness of the contest. This year’s impressive feat is unprecedented considering that all 14 participants won an award each.
The CNMO was participated in by ten provinces of China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Hong Kong, Macau, and the Philippines. It should be noted that the Philippines was the first country to be invited to join the CNMO in 2014.
The country’s sweeping victory in CNMO has prompted the MTG Philippines to reward the winners with cash prizes as follow: Gold-Php 4,000.00, Silver- Php 2,500.00, and Bronze –Php1,000.00. The participants are advised to check their e-mail address for steps on how to claim the cash prizes.
