The five elite math wizards endowed with great force of will and notable numerical acumen came out triumphant for winning a medal each in the China Girls Mathematical Olympiad (CGMO) held in Shenzhen in Guangdong, China, from August 10 to 14, 2015.
Putting on show their girl power, our 5 female number crunchers made a great headway in their participation in one of the toughest math contests in the world where problems use a proof-based format similar to the International Math Olympiad.
This year, giving the Philippine two silver medals are two Judenites, Andrea Jessica Jaba and Jinger Chong of St. Jude Catholic School in Manila.
Furthermore, the performance of three other female math wizards found a place in the sun for hauling bronze medals and the following winners are Isabel Jocyn Villanueva of PAREF Woodrose School (Muntinlupa), Natalie Beatrice Dy - St John's Institute (Bacolod City) and Tiffany Mae Ong - Immaculate Conception Academy (San Juan).
The CGMO participants came from these countries and territories: United States, Singapore, Russia, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Macau, Hong Kong, the Philippines, and China.
