SIX FILIPINO KIDS GET PERFECT SCORES IN RIO TINTO

Six Filipino kids topped the list of Philippine participants after obtaining a perfect score in the 2009 Rio Tinto Big Science Competition held simultaneously in 990 schools worldwide in June 2009. The competition joined by more than 70,000 students from other countries has sought to promote excellence in science education. The Big Science Competition encourages critical thinking and problem solving skills. This is one contest where topics are created to challenge students' scientific thinking.
From more than 500 Filipino kids who participated in the said contest, six (6) obtained the High Distinction Award for their perfect scores, thirty two (32) got the Distinction Award while one hundred thirty five (135) hooked the Credit Awards.
