The Philippine teams go from success to success! This time, victory is more obvious than apparent after four girls, famed for their number prowess, come up trumps in the 2013 China Girls Mathematical Olympiad (CGMO) held in Zhenhai, Zhejiang Province, China last August 10 - 15, 2013.
CGMO, having a reputation to be the hardest math contest in Asia and 2ndtoughest in the world, patterns its style and format after the prestigious International Mathematics Olympiad.
Undauntedly confronted the CGMO challenge are familiar names and faces who keep excellent track record in the field of international math contest. Giving the Philippines four bronze medals are the following:

The Philippine Team also won first place in aerobics and second place in the 1000-piece puzzle solving contest, which are side events of the contest.
Indeed, surviving the CGMO math problems is always an uphill battle. Though the problems were more difficult this year, the four Filipino female math wizards managed to put on brave face and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.
This year, a total of 150 smart math girls from Russia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Philippines and from different parts of China including Beijing, Shanghai, Hunan, Sichuan and Guangdong participated in the contest.
